When I saw that tarte cosmetics was offering a new lip gloss value set specifically for gifting, I was impressed. As a huge fan of tarte cosmetics and of value sets, I decided I had to get my hands on one of these sets!*

Each tarte Crown Jewels Lip Gloss Set comes with three individually packaged and “giftable” boxes, each containing five mini lip glosses. In total, the set comes with fifteen paraben-free lip glosses, which contain tarte’s customary natural ingredients and smell a little like warm sugar.

Each of the gift boxes in the Crown Jewels set has a pre-named selection of shades (Dazzling Divas, Glimmering Green Goddesses, Twinkling Trendsetters). However, I like the idea of re-arranging the shades to match the recipient before gifting. Btw – The gift boxes come attached together in a silver book-like box (see photo), and you must tear one off at a perforation to remove it.

Here is a photo of the non-perforated end of each gift box, imprinted with the name of the set. (I do wish the boxes weren’t named though, since I prefer mixing and matching my own shades.)

The shades in the Twinkling Trendsetters set are shimmery but not as intensely shimmery as the Dazzling Divas (see photo). The shades in the Glimmering Green Goddesses set have minimal shimmer and come in creamier and lighter shades.

A close-up look at the Dazzling Divas set… These shades are pretty shimmery so they look almost glittery in the tube.
