In this Work Product series, I try to find the best work shoe of all worlds: a stylish and flattering office-friendly shoe that is, very importantly, comfortable to walk in (and I do mean walk not hobble). Brownie points for head-turning or compliment-inducing capabilities!

Most working professional women out there have a dilemma: wear stylish leg-flattering (yet crippling) heels or wear comfortable leg-shortening flats, or gasp even consider wearing 80’s era mid-heel pumps? What is a gal to do?!

I got the United Nude Fold elastic bootie in Grey Fade, a very work-friendly shade, with a Mid heel, and the shoes were a huge hit in and out of the office. Not only does this heeled mid-ankle boot get points for garnering compliments, but best of all it gets high marks for being completely and utterly comfortable and unique.

The UN Fold Mid elastic bootie is fantastically cool because it wraps around the entire foot so elegantly with one woven elastic strip, and it conforms to the shape of the foot. Also, the Grey Fade color is perfect for work and nights out, and the subtle color gradient (medium gray to dark gray toward the bottom/toe) is a nice touch. The grey textured elastic material even has hints of olive and brown for added complexity (shown above in normal lighting and below against the orange backdrop of the shoebox).

The Fold style (normally $185) comes in a ton of amazing colors ranging from subtle grays and blacks to rainbow varieties, each with unique wave-like color striping. What’s more, the boot has an elegant shape, is leather lined around the inside, comes with extra heel tips, and is available in both Mid and Hi heel styles.
