Can one have a crush on brushes? I don’t normally get excited about makeup brushes, other than synthetic kabuki’s, but Lancome’s new limited edition blue-black makeup brushes are immensely attractive, and this brush set is one of only a few new products that I predict will strike ahhhh in the hearts of consumers everywhere.

The limited edition “Declaring Indigo” set of Lancome’s new blue-black brushes will be available to ship from Nordstrom.com starting July 17, 2009 (pre-order now). This smolderingly beautiful new Lancome brush set is a $124 value, and comes with four blue and black bristle brushes and a pretty blue-black brush clutch for only $52.

The Nordstrom-exclusive Lancome brush set includes the following 4 brushes:
– Mineral Powder Foundation Brush
– Foundation Brush #2 (liquid foundation brush)
– Blender Brush #4 (face and eye blender)
– Dual-Ended Brush #18 (liner and shadow)

(Note: According to Lucky Magazine, the price of this brush set will go up a lot after August 2!)

[Update: I checked out these brushes in person, and most of them are synthetic, according to the salesperson.  I think only the blender is not synthetic.  Also, the bag is really cute!]

I have one of the Lancome Mineral Powder Foundation Brushes already and I ADORE it. I’m going to buy this brush set too, and have an extra brush. I’m so excited! This set is DEFINITELY worth the cost!

Hyzenthlay- Cool! I am so glad to hear that you like the Lancome brush you have – I was wondering about the quality of these, so I hope they are just as good as the one you have… Now I want these blue-black ones even more!

ah, i saw those in lucky and was so smitten! i don’t even own makeup (aside from one or two tubes of lipstick that usually sit abandoned at the bottom of my purse), and i *still* want these 🙂 they’re gorgeous.

Why would you want a liquid foundation brush and a mineral foundation brush–wouldn’t you use one type of foundation or the other, not both?

Why not a blush brush, instead?

Kathryn- If Lancome put 4 of the same brush in this kit, I’d probably still want it! 🙂 The mineral foundation brush could work for blush if you use liquid foundation, and if/when you use mineral foundation perhaps the face blender brush could work for blush while the liquid foundation brush could then be used for undereye concealer, eyeshadow base, primer, or even browbone highlighting. That’s what I tell myself, anyway!
