Meilily Product Photos: Sublime Balkiss Parfum by The Different Company!
I purchased a bottle of Sublime Balkiss by The Different Company on a whim during a trip to Barneys, likely feeling overwhelmed by their selection of fragrances and by the over-attentiveness of their staff. In the end, I am actually quite pleased with Sublime Balkiss: the subtle complexity and uniqueness of the perfume and the quality of The Different Company’s products and packaging.
The Different Company is a luxury fragrance brand that uses a high concentration of natural ingredients with the nose of perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, who has created fragrances for brands like Hermes, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels, along with his perfumer daughter Celine. Their fragrance creations are unconventionally unisex and each is designed to have a different desired overall “olfactory effect.” The Different Company has even been awarded a Green label by Greenpeace!

Nothing makes me happier than a good sampler set, and I was in heaven when I discovered that Ineke Perfumes has a fantastic and affordable sample collection of Ineke Eau de Parfum Sprays.
The Ineke Deluxe Sample Collection is extremely well done and packaged amazingly. You get six unique deluxe samples of fragrance (A-F), each mini spray bottle (1.5 ml) individually packaged in a little matchstick size box and then placed in a beautiful pull-out box decorated with lovely calligraphy.

The Harajuku Lovers fragrance line includes six unique fragrances bottled in sugary cute packaging, each representing a unique girl and a unique style. The scents are named Love, Lil’ Angel, Music, Baby, and G.

Meilily Featured Shop: The Perfumed Court
If you are familiar with the power that scents have to transform a mood, lift the spirits, or brighten a day, then you will understand my latest obsession with perfumes and fragrances. It is not an obsession with just any and all fragrances, but an obsession with finding just the right fragrance to trigger that “ahhhh” response.
Here is where a particular online shop comes in handy: The Perfumed Court is an online fragrance shop that really helps me pursue my fragrance search (a.k.a. obsession) without breaking the bank. The Perfumed Court features a mind-blowing array of international fragrances, including niche fragrances that are harder to find and also fragrances that are not available in the United States. The special part about The Perfumed Court is that they sell decants, taking original fragrances and carefully transferring them into smaller containers for resale.
Since I have always had a hard time justifying shelling out a bunch of money for a full-size bottle of perfume that I would only wear a few times, buying perfume had become for me simply impractical until recently. After finding and trying fragrance decants from The Perfumed Court, I have become a decant convert. Now, I will never buy a regular size bottle of fragrance again, unless it is affordable and unless I also love it.

The latest issue of Allure, the November 2008 issue featuring Eva Longoria, is a veritable minefield of fragrance samples, ranging from Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession to Paris Hilton’s new Fairy Dust. One of the best things about this issue of Allure, though, is the Beauty 101 guide to perfumes.
The Beauty 101 section in Allure usually features how-to cards with lists of recommended products on the back, but in this issue, the cards instead feature special fragrance offers from Nordstrom! Allure teamed up with Nordstrom to bring us these fragrance offers for Nordstrom’s Fragrance Festival event.
