Meilily Product Swatches: Comparing Three Benefit Cosmetics Highlighters!
As requested, here are some swatches that will help you compare the three Benefit Cosmetics highlighters: Girl Meets Pearl, High Beam, and Moon Beam.
Benefit Cosmetics‘ first pink liquid highlighter, High Beam, quickly became a popular beauty staple, and more recently Benefit created Moon Beam, the next addition to their liquid highlighter family. Now, with the launch of the new Girl Meets Pearl luminizer, it has gotten pretty hard to tell all these Benefit liquid highlighters apart.
Meilily to the rescue! Believe me, after you see these highlighters swatched side by side, you will see a difference… Check out Meilily’s Benefit highlighter comparison swatches: › Continue reading

Summer won’t be over for a while yet, so if you want to tighten up your swimsuit/short-skirt body, here’s a product for you!
Use it wherever you choose! The slighty minty cooling sensation makes it feel like something’s working, but isn’t strong enough to feel burning or distracting. Whewh!
I was surprised to see toning results after my first use, but I suppose it could have just been my imagination. Either way, I think this stuff works, so that’s pretty good for skeptical me! YMMV, of course, but I like using Bliss Love Handler for smoother tighter skin.
Don’t forget this savings code: Get 20% off fuzz fighting and body toning bestsellers at blissworld.com. Enter code HAIRY! Offer ends 8.9.09.
Or, better yet, you can browse the wide selection of fitness shoes at Blissworld.com, and pick out a pair of raved-about Swiss MBT shoes on sale for only $149… and get a Free full size Love Handler with your order! Get a FREE love handler with a $100 purchase at blissworld.com. Enter code FREELUV. Offer ends 8.9.09.
Meilily loves… Bliss Love Handler!
P.S. Meilily’s Product Tip: When you use Love Handler, you’ll probably want to wash your hands after applying it to your body so you don’t get any toning minty-ness in your eyes! Just a thought!

While Meilily is on vacation in Kauai, here are some beauty and skincare product tips on what to bring on your next summer beach vacation… Check out this comparison of what Meilily brought, and what Meilily actually ended up using (and not using) while on vacation!
Beauty & Skincare Products for a Summer Beach Vacation
- Mineral Sunscreen -Lavera Sun Block SPF 40 Neutral Sunscreen (thick, mineral sun protection, whitening, but actually waterproof- perfect for hiking, snorkeling, and even beach-sitting!)
- Insect Repellent – Skin So Soft BUG GUARD Plus Picaridin Insect Repellent Towelettes (easy to apply in the right amount and smells pretty good)
- Natural Deodorant – Tom’s of Maine Natural Long-lasting Care Deodorant in Apricot (great, but perhaps not enough for a day-long trek through a swamp apparently)
- Hair Conditioner sample packets – DHC has some generous hair care samples (4 Free DHC Samples with Every Order.)
- A basic razor – I brought a disposable razor (shame on me), but non-disposable works too
- A wide brim fold-able sun hat – found one at Nordstrom on sale (so useful in hot sun!)
- Large sunglasses (really helps keep the delicate eye area protected from sun)
Good-to-haves… › Continue reading

The April 2009 issue of Allure Magazine includes a surprise spread featuring none other than legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford looking fantastic and fit. Not only does 40+ Cindy Crawford look youthful in the Allure photos, but she also looks healthy, in a supermodel-esque way.
This latest photo spread in Allure Magazine is an excellent example of how healthy beauty is currently “in.” It looks like the days of fast food replacing home-cooked meals or of the waif-ish stick silouette replacing the hourglass figure may truly be gone. We could even start finding ourselves looking for new icons of beauty – beauty in health and beauty in strength. The striking Allure photograph of Cindy Crawford ripping apart a loaf of bread wearing a bikini definitely illustrates such iconic beauty in health and in strength, featuring toned muscles, glowing smooth skin, and… rustic organic whole grain bread.
How to achieve such a youthful, healthy look?
Meilily’s Tips for Looking Healthy, Strong, and Beautiful:
Meilily Tip 1. Keep your body well-rested - Who’s going to care that your friends stayed up all night partying 2 days in a row (while you stayed in and got your beauty sleep) when you show up at the next event looking amazing? Meilily thinks sleeping in is the best beauty treatment ever!
Meilily Tip 2. Take a chill pill and give your head a break - Why stress out over little things that don’t matter? Research has shown that the body responds better to allergens when it has less stress and more rest. Plus, red, itchy skin is never attractive! › Continue reading
