Forever on the hunt for amazingly refreshing facial mist products, I thought I had found my favorite (Sue Devitt Microquatic Luminous Finishing Mist). That was before I came across a small unassuming bottle of aromatic hydrating goodness, Kerstin Florian’s Rehydrating Neroli Water, during a special getaway to Big Sur’s Ventana Inn & Spa.
Though I hadn’t heard of Kerstin Florian products before, once I tried of spritz of the Rehydrating Neroli Water, I was instantly smitten. I had found The One – the Best Facial Mist Ever!
Unassuming packaging aside, Kerstin Florian’s Rehydrating Neroli Water, feels —› › Continue reading

Nail polish is the new lipstick, and if you haven’t been under a rock in the last year you know that creative nail polish art has gone mainstream. Nail product giant Sally Hansen has kept up with the nail art trend and has updated their fun-and-easy nail polish strips line, Salon Effects, to include more patterns like this handwritten love letter polish.
Reminiscent of the cool DIY newsprint nail polish look, these handwritten polish strips combine a DIY modern feel with a hint of old-school paper and ink, but without all the extra steps, paper cuts or consumption.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to a new era in foundation shopping! Finally recognizing the plight of the modern multicultural foundation shopper, Sephora & Pantone have developed an innovative new system of foundation matching.
The new Sephora + Pantone Color IQ system digitally scans the skin using a handheld imaging device, determines the Pantone color that most closely matches your skin color from a range of 110 skin tone shades, and searches an extensive product database to retrieve the best foundation shade matches.
The Color IQ handheld digital scanner is actually used to take images of the skin at three different areas – forehead, neck, and chest – to calculate the closest Pantone shade match. —› › Continue reading

Meilily Featured ShopStyle Look: Paris-inspired Print Blouse & Full Skirt for Summer/Fall!
If you’ve ever been to Paris and found yourself gazing longingly at any of the gorgeously understated shop windows, you’ll understand the inspiration for this Featured Look.
On my first trip to Paris, I stumbled upon an amazing window display for Parisian label, Cotelac. So delightful! Such casual sophistication!
When I soon discovered that an outfit of such understated sophistication as seen in the Cotelac shop window was not to be had for less than US$1,000, I vowed to return home and recreate the look for less.
Here is an admittedly more American take on the print blouse & full skirt combo inspired by Cotelac:
The look centers on a sheer print top in an enchanting woodsy green shade like this Maggie Ward silk blouse or a DKNY chiffon blouse with animal print (if you like that sort of thing). Of course you’ll need a full neutral skirt like this Gun Print skirt by Porcelain (found at Modcloth) or —› › Continue reading

Erica Weiner is still one of my favorite indie jewelry makers. From the ingenuity and whimsy of her best-selling handcuff lariat necklace, and now to the vintage sweetness of her letterpress lyrics heart necklaces, there’s something extra special about Erica Weiner’s pieces.
Earlier this year, during a sale, I picked up a couple Sweetheart Necklaces by Erica Weiner with custom stamped text on both sides. The one inch brass heart is like a larger and flatter sweetheart candy heart on a 16″ chain, and with custom, slightly imperfect, letterpress lettering it looks rather striking and feels one-of-a-kind.
I chose to customize the necklaces with lyrics —› › Continue reading
